A great many changes and improvements are being seen down around Z Pier, our main Charter Base at Westhaven Marina in Auckland City, and the surrounding private mooring piers.

Only a couple of years ago there was a new ablution block added in the main carpark at Z Pier.  This offers our fishing guests the opportunity to shower after their big fishing day out and head off to the bright lights of Auckland City and experience the tastes and smells of multi-cultural Auckland's huge selection of Restaurants and Bars, in walking distance in the Wynyard Quarter and Viaduct Basin .

The construction of a new walkway allows for a relaxing stroll taking in the many beautiful yachts and pleasure craft moored in this, Auckland's most popular Marina.

The organisers of the inaugral Z Pier Fishing Classic contest last March have recently announced this will be an Annual Event for the Fishing calendar, and the date to put in your diary this year is 22nd March 2015.

The format due to be advised to us by the crew at Westhaven Marina, will be posted on this website.  No need to have your own boat - you can enter and fish off the rocks!  However for maximising your chances of catching the "Big One" and be in the winner's circle, you would be well advised to look at the boat which had the best results last year - MV Mantaray with top skipper Lance Paniora.

For the coming 2015 competition New Zealand Fishing Safaris will be reserving a range of boats to participate in the Z Pier Fishing Classic competition.  We envisage more interest ths year due to the earlier date announcement so you can plan ahead.

Make an Earlybird Booking aboard one of our vessels for either a Private Fishing Charter with Family and Friends, or Corporate Charter on one of our modern fishing vessels with First Class Fishing Guides or come along by yourself or with a mate and join a group of others for the fun and thrill of taking part in a Fishing Contest.  No experience necessary!!  Children are welcome to come and compete in the special childrens' prize sections.  We have the best fishing guides around to assist you catch the "Big One" and take home one of the many prizes on offer!!
